Something Special

Something Special

Hi everyone, I hope that you've all had a lovely weekend, I haven't had time to
craft so my post today is something that my Hubby made for Mitzi's last Birthday,
I know that was almost a year ago now but I never ever got around to blogging
about it. He made it using Mitzi's gorgeous Aurora Wings image which is called

Winter Lullaby

He made this wooden sculpture using his scroll saw and bamboo wood, he then
waxed & polished the finished piece before mounting it and then he felted the base.

He's so clever & very patient (unlike me LOL) I think this he said that this was
his third attempt because of how intricate the cuts were, and on one occasion the
blade jumped and ruined all what he had done :(

Those of you who know me or those of you who are regular visitors to my blog
will remember my post of the wooden sculpture of our Daughter Leanne

I'm off now to finish off my ironing then maybe I will have some
time later to craft :)

Betty Boots

Betty Boots

Hi everyone,  I hope that you're all having a lovely weekend. My weekend
has been an eventful one having falling up the stairs (yes you read correctly up the stairs)
and bumped my head and bruised both knees, but it could have been
so much worse couldn't it and like my Hubby said "at least the staircase doesn't need
repairing" and "where there's no sense, there's no feeling" he's so cheeky lol
Seriously though, I really do think that I should be more careful given the last
time I fell on the stairs I broke two toes and fractured my coccyx.

Well today the housework has been put on hold on (medical grounds hehehe)
so I've spent today colouring up one of my Betty Boots images.
I thought that I would colour her up in greyscale and add colour for her pens,
paintbrushes and pencils, and then I thought that I could mount her after
fussy cutting her onto a background of paint splotches to help her to "POP"

I coloured Betty Boots in the following Promarkers

Ice Grey 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5
Rose Pink
Lipstick Red
Frosted Jade
Honeycomb
China Blue
Gold

I also used Sakura Stardust Gelly Roll for her buckle and Molotow
Grafx white fineliner for her freckles

Sprite Delight #3

Sprite Delight #3

Hi everyone, It's time once again for another new challenge to begin
over at Aurora Wings Challenge Blog and this time the theme is.........

for more information on our latest challenge just follow the
"Aurora Wings Challenge Blog" link above.

For my Aurora Wings DT sample for the challenge I thought that
I would have a go at making something a little different, so I made
some Origami Lanterns out of vellum for my friends little girl Lily's
bedroom, and here they are.......

To make these lanterns I used heavy weight Parchment Vellum which I created the Origami
Lanterns, I then coloured up Aurora Wings Digi image Wisteria SpriteJasmine Sprite &
Lily of the Valley Sprite using a selection of Pro/Flexmarkers.

I then scanned the coloured images into my computer and then resized them
and printed them out onto printable vellum. Next I cut out the images and used
a small corner punch before sticking them onto the lanterns.

I then placed each of the soft white glow LED string lights into the top of each
of the lanterns before using Silicone to seal the light bulb in place and covering
with a hand tied bow which I made in the same colours as each of the sprites.
